SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT AND MKMOT (September 8-9, 2012)

Obviously, you're all trembling with anticipation. I won't keep you in agony any longer.

It's time to (temporarily) import some structure into our balog writeups. With that in mind, I will be rolling out a new feature on Monday. What is this feature, you ask? Well, you're just going to have to stay tuned. In the business, we call that a "tease". Obnoxious, I know, but a necessary tactic. At least I'm not going to make you sit through six minutes of grating ads that make you want to live life product-free. I'm just going to give you three and a half minutes of great music that you will be needing more than you know, and a friendly reminder that it's open.

  1. Legitimate* question here:

I am by no means a spring chicken**, but, you know, I still consider myself a young'un - certainly not a real adult, despite having recently reached the point that I am closer to 30 than 20 - it struck me today that the majority of the players in today's college games were born in the 90s, which vaguely blows my mind.

And then I looked up the Venerable Tebow's birthday, thinking that, like me, he had slightly overstayed his college welcome and was a bit older than me...

Nope. He's a month younger than I am.

Since I know some of you are old as fuck (lookin' at you, Erg), who was the player whose comparative youth to your elderly balls really hit home for you?

Thanks, I'll hang up and listen.

    *HA!
**I prefer fall, I lack the requisite cloaca, etc.

    1. Despite all evidence to the contrary I still have difficulties seeing myself as a real adult.

Mine was a little later. When Steve Avery pitched his first game for the Atlanta Braves he was almost exactly half my age. Oof.

  2. Your major announcement today was that you're going to have an announcement on Monday?

I've been in your corner, Skeevy, but this is really testing my conviction.

    1. I know! I always pegged Sharting as a clean-shaven kind of guy.

    2. Why are we not talking more about this? I feel like this is a big happening. Are we agreeing to pretend we don't know?

  4. Why did they have to out Sharting as Albert Burneko? No one has forced me to identify myself by my actual name, Barry Petchesky.
