MKM Blog Open Thread (February 18, 2012)

Welcome to your MKM Blog Open thread for February 18, 2012, the day I tried to post via iPad and all sorts if hilariously inept misadventures ensued

Hey everyone. I want to commend you all for another thoughtful day of commenting on comments. I really appreciate all the thoughtful insights and other thoughtful thoughtfulliness you contributed, except for Raysism who decided to post about how great he wishes he was. Even the pandering is great, you really don't want to miss Echo's Hallmark card, for example.

So, keep it coming, pardon our dust the next few days, and continue to argue about how guys from Third Street walk like this but guys from Fourth Street walk like this.

Cheers!

  1. IMG, you're doing the Lord's work. I look forward to my commenter profile sometime around 2014 once you've run out of things to post.

  2. I'm retarded and don't understand that the ACC is a private organization hosting a private event. Never back down, America! USA USA USA!

  3. I'm kind of wondering whether this is karmic retribution for pulling punches on this one (Costner's speech was surprisingly touching). But then I snap out of it and think, "Forget it, StF-- it's Gawkertown."

  4. Timothy Burke will never admit he's wrong.

  5. I only drink on Friday and Saturday nights, and those seem to be the slowest, worst nights for DUAN. I'm drinking with Mary Carillo.

  7. "Mister Burke. You're missing the point here. The entity selling you the ticket can have you kicked out at their discretion. Now, (NOW) you can sue them and go to court to make the argument presented in that sports law blog (which nobody has ever done EVER). This is because it would be quickly thrown out as these events are produced by entities set-up as private organizations (your ignorance is that you don't know that the entity selling you the ticket is set-up in such a way that the constitutional issue doesn't exist - you're not the first person to think about this and neither is mister 2007 blog). These are not state-run events. Now, you should work on Update 2: To report that everything you say at a state college basketball game is "protected speech" is wildly irresponsible (as it will lead to people misunderstanding their agreement when they purchase a ticket to a sporting event) and could lead to real-life altercations. By not updating again (and arguing vehemently against the people trying to help you understand) it makes Deadspin look like a two-bit, sophomoric outlet that peddles uninformed, fringe, legal theories as law. (WHAT?)"

  9. How long do we wait before emailing Tommy/CC:Barry/AJ about Burke's baby games tonight? Do we give him 'till tomorrow to back off his retarded statements?

He'll never back off, because he's awful and he can't see that he's wrong. We're talking about the "writer" who used the headline "This Girl Loves The Cocks" once.

HARF HARF HARF...It's funny because it's a double entendre that no one* has ever thought of before. "THEIR TEAM NAME IS THE SAME AS THE NICKNAME FOR A DICK!!!1!1!!1!!! PhD!11!!!!1!!!" What a joke that they have someone like that on staff.

He's going to have to back off this one when Craggs realizes that Burke is telling his readers that they can go to state college sports events and say whatever they want. He's explicitly stating that whatever you scream at a state college basketball game is "protected speech."
