A Public Service Announcement: A Public Service I Might Announce

So, fans of meta-commentary, inside baseball, DUAN, (but hopefully not shoptalk), do you think it would be worthwhile for me to leave an open thread every day to meta-comment, make inside baseball jokes, or whatever you want to do but can't do on Deadspin?  I know there are plenty of times I would like to make an inside baseball joke that would be funny to the 20-30 of us who actually follow comments, but then I've long since forgotten it by the time DUAN rolls around (not to mention that it long since would have lost its punch).

Let me know.  I'll probably start leaving open threads even if you all say it's a terrible idea.  Because I'm lazy and there's literally nothing easier than doing an open thread.

Can't bros who want to make inside baseball comments just make an alternate account, and everyone agrees not to approve it, and you put an #insidebaseball tag on the comment? This is a lot of work, but it accomplishes the goal of allowing us folks to make inside baseball jokes in the moment, where they belong, and in the pink, so it's not visible to the masses for whom we are supposedly commenting. Or even just one account with a password we all know and use, and you can log in and do that? This is the stupidest idea ever, but it's actually pretty smart if you think about it, although I don't think the higher ups would dig it.

  4. Doesn't twitter do exactly that if you follow Body by Bacardi's list?
