MKM Open Thread (Mar. 8, 2012)

Welcome to your MKM Blog open thread for March 8, 2012, ten days until St. Patrick's Day, so make sure your training is staying on schedule.  Good numbers for today should be about 12 green beers, two shots of Jameson, and four fights because someone made a joke about Everlast.

Hey, good morning, everyone.  Let's have a great day of chatting and, assuming I can get a good run in before it gets too dark, look for something new tonight.  If it does get too dark, on the other hand, please look for something new and, more importantly, the corpse of a jogger wearing Everlast shorts and listening to Ke$ha's greatest hits on his Walkman.

Here's a fucking excellent YouTube clip to get you started.

  4. Is there an easy way to figure out what comment somebody got starred for when flipping through their comment history?

Usually when I realize that somebody has been recently starred, I try to flip through their recent comments to find their money shot, but for some reason I almost always have a hard time finding it. And yes, I know that it is the comment that is followed by "____ was starred."

    1. The easiest way is to just read every comment every day. Then, when you need to know what got a new guy starred, just think back to the last time you vomited and kicked your dog.

    2. Holy shit, a lot of people got starred last St. Patrick's Day.

    3. I've never found an 'easy way'. But if you know it happened recently I just go back maybe two weeks or so and start looking for the comments that needed to be promoted and work your way backwards. Still pretty much a pain.

    4. I know it is not the case for everyone, but when I got starred, it wasn't on a particular comment. So you couldn't find a comment where I was starred. Just had a notification from CN that I was starred.

    5. The easiest way is just to skim the comments to Drew's posts.

      (There is no easy way)

  5. It's kind of cool to know that aside from physical ability and editorial talent; baseball players, A.J. Daulerio and I really aren't that different after all.

    1. We need to sneak him back after this. Maybe under a new commenter name, so that he can comment freely without the burden of expectations-- something like "New Sad Echo."

    4. Yeah, that was the best live chat I remember. Although Silverman's was endearing in it's own special way.

Can cobra give a simple goddamn +1 without leaving a long-winded suck-job that doesn't look like it should end in "FINISH ON MY FACE"?

One of those things is A Pimp Named DaveR.
