  1. Car Thief, obviously, but I'm a little disappointed in the other choices. Would it have killed you to put The Maestro or Body Movin' or Total Eclipse Of The Heart on there? Honestly.

    1. Which version of Body Movin'? TEOTH was obviously an oversight.

    2. I like the original album version, and the Fatboy Slim mix - depends on my mood.

      Also, just found this one.

  2. Open Letter to NYC, Nonstop Disco Powerpack.

Sometimes, the newer stuff actually is better. It's reverse hipsterism!

    1. I'm really glad to see you pick those. Great choices, especially Open Letter which never gets its due. Lyrically simple? Sure, but right for the message.

    2. Beasties, like Outkast, Fugees, and others get a lot of props and critical acclaim for their more innovative stuff that drifted towards rock and other more experimental forms. And rightfully so, except for Fugees. I hate Wyclef, but that's for another day.

Although I respect ambition and evolution, as a matter of personal preference, gimme some good old-fashioned beats-driven hip-hop any day of the week. The two songs I chose fit this bill.
